About UGC NET JRF Exam details 2017-2018
The exam has been conducted on 5th November 2017 in 91 cities which consisted of 1700 exam centres. About 9.30 Lakh candidates have registered for the UGC NET 2017 in which 409439 male, 519557 female and 5 transgender registered. The important dates can also be checked below. The commencement of National Eligibility test is on 5th November 2017 and the announcement of UGC NET 2017 will be on 2nd June 2018. Schedule has been fixed and going accordingly. Last year around 3650 qualified for JRF and 22381 for assistant professorship.
UGC NET Eligibility criteria
NET also known as National Eligibility Test or CBSE NET which used to determine the university level lectureship and for the junior research for Indian nationals. UGC which is abbreviated as University Grants Commission holds for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for Assistant professor only. UGC NET Nov Exam Cutoff marks & Syllabus pattern 2017
As per the new terms and regulations the leading 6% candidates among the test takers will be termed with the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor. Calculation can be done with category wise and subject wise distribution of slots by the formula which is also applicable for JRF. The formula is shown below.
Number of candidates who have opted for JRF and qualified for the assistant professor in that subject* number of slots available under general category / total number of general category opted for jrf and qualified for assistant professor.
Candidates need to obtain the minimum qualifying mark aggregate in all the three papers which are Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. Below we are provided some steps to check the results. Cutoff marks for different categories is shown below.
Atleast 40% Aggregate marks should be obtained in all the three papers by the General category. In SC OBC ST and PWD they have to score at least 35% aggregate marks in all the three papers. As the CBSE board is responsible conducting the NET examination, they are going to provide e certificates to qualified candidates of UGC NET. 7) Assistant professor status and JRF status.
8) CBSE net cut off 2017.
